Fifth stage TDS: Marcus Burghardt Strongest In Breakway

After yesterday's dramatic bunch sprint crash, the peloton was today ready to take on the 172 kilometer long hilly fifth stage of Tour de Suisse from Wettingen to Frutigen including two categorized climbs.

Daniel Oss (Liquigas-Doimo), Marcus Burghardt, Angelo Furlan (Lampre), Javier Aramendia (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Martijn Maaskant (Garmin) slipped away but late on the stage the group exploded and on the finish line, Marcus Burghardt turned out to be the strongest ahead of Martijn Maaskant (Garmin).

Tony Martin (Columbia) still leads the race by one second ahead of Team Saxo Bank's Fabian Cancellara.

Andy finished in 28th place and stands in the overall classification in place 25 with 00:34 seconds to the leader.
