The 192 kilometer long fourth stage of Tour de Suisse was dominated by Brice Feillu (Vacansoleil) who managed to sneak away shortly after the start and single-handedly, he kept the chasing peloton away until the hilly finishing circuit in Wettingen, in the northern part of Switzerland.
The lone rider was caught 24 kilometers from the finish line after being chased by Team Columbia all day. The regrouping provoked an avalanche of attacks but the sprinter teams quickly organized a pace which made it impossible to create any serious gap to the field.
The mass sprint was marred by a terrible crash including Mark Cavendish (Columbia) and Heinrich Haussler (Cervelo) and unfortunately, they brought down several other top sprinters in the peloton.
Team Saxo Bank's Matti Breschel navigated around the crash and finished the stage on second place after Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre) who didn't celebrate crossing the finish line first.
Andy finished in 31st place. In the overall clasification Andy is standing in 27th place.
