Today, Andy and Fränk and there Saxo Bank team members Fabian Cancellara, Jakob Fuglsang, Matti Breschel, Stuart O'Grady, Gustav Larsson and Jens Voigt were ready to defend last year's overall victory of Tour de Suisse.

The stage race over one week was launched with a prologue of 7.6 kilometers in the streets of Lugano and the pressure on Team Saxo Bank's Fabian Cancellara to take the win was immensely intense. But he didn't let down his home supporters and is now in the leader's jersey.

The Saxo Bank riders studied the course thoroughly before entering the prologue but it was a technically difficult stretch on the slippery surface. The profile looked most of all like a mountain time trial.

Andy finished in 31st place with a lost of 24 seconds.
