Today's technical prologue course of the Vuelta a Andalucia del Sol was a course for power specialists due to the fast early descent and tough uphill return.

Leopard-Trek riders Fränk Schleck and Tom Stamsnijder gave strong performances to finish well within the expectations of the team plan. With barely twenty seconds separating the winner, Jimmy Engoulvent (Saur Sojasun), from Leopard-Trek’s team leaders, Fränk Schleck and Stamsnijder can go into the rest of the tour with confidence.

Andy ended in 40th place with 0.20 second to Jimmy Engoulvent .
